Preparatory meeting for council polls

Former Secretary to the Election Commission and consultant C.R. Brahmam presided over a preparatory meeting for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Council elections here on Tuesday.

According to an official release, seven Collectors and District Revenue Officers, among other officials, from Madurai, Sivaganga, Dindigul, Theni, Ramanathapuram, Kanyakumari and Pudukottai districts attended the meeting held at the Collectorate.

The former ECI official, according to official sources, briefed the members on various aspects to be followed in the conduct of the polls.

The eligibility criteria for voters and the method to be adopted in preparing the voters lists were discussed, the Collectors said.
