Port employees’ union to sponsor six poor students

Tuticorin Port General Staff Union has come forward to sponsor the educational expenses of six poor students.

This was announced at the union’s anniversary celebrations held at Das Navis Matha Girls Higher Secondary School here on Thursday. Fast Track Mahila Court Judge J. Flora, who was the chief guest, gave away free uniform sets to 250 poor students from 17 schools. SSLC and Plus Two toppers from the families of union members received cash award and mementos.

Correspondent and Headmistress S. James Mendelssohn; union general secretary R. Selvakumar and others were present.
