Petitions will be collected in Madurai and Chennai: Sagayam

Petitions regarding the granite mining activities will be collected at offices in both Madurai and Chennai for the benefit of the public, an official statement from Special officer U. Sagayam said.

Mr Sagayam is heading a probe ordered into the granite mining activities in Madurai district and has been asked to submit a report on the same.

According to the statement, persons in Chennai who wish to submit petitions can do so at the office in Science City, Gandhi Mandapam road, Planetarium campus, Chennai 600 025.

The office can be contacted at 044-24454054 for phone calls or 044-24454034 for fax, the statement said.

For persons in Madurai, petitions can be submitted at the Madurai Office at Poomalai Vaniga Valagam near the old Ramanathapuram Collectorate Complex, Gandhi Nagar, Madurai 625 020. The office can be contacted at 0452-2533903 for phone calls and faxes.

The public can also send in e-mails to the common id solcgranite@gmail.com , the statement added.
