“Organisations are facing the challenge of keeping up with the changes in all aspects and are forced to adapt continuously,” said P. R. Venkatrama Raja, vice-chairman of RAMCO Group, at the inauguration of an international conference in Velammal College of Engineering and Technology on Wednesday.
The conference, “Go Excel 2012”, was organised by the Department of Management Studies of the college.
“The rate of change is growing constantly and there is a call for transparency in all the organisations. The thumb rule now for organisations is to be willing to reorganise with a system of passion and transparency”, said Mr. Venkatrama Raja.
In his address, Nesar Ahmad, President of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), New Delhi, said that the trend where corporate companies, industries and educational institutions work together is laudable. “Education should be in sync with the development taking place in the world. Besides academics, research projects are required in educational institutions,” he told the students.
Smitha H. Shetty, Managing Director of Fouress Engineering India ltd, Bangalore said the students can absorb knowledge and intelligence from education, but should pursue actions that will give them happiness. “Development of attitude is the key to excellence. Introspection is essential for the students to improve,” she said.
According to C. Selvaraj, Director of MBA department in the college, said 15 international papers will be presented in the conference, focussing on topics including corporate social responsibility, strategy governance, e-governance, green governance, HR governance and leadership governance.
M.V. Muthuramalingam, Chairman of Velammal College of Engineering and Technology, and N. Suresh Kumar, Principal of the college, also spoke on the occasion.
