A writ petition has been filed in the Madras High Court Bench here seeking a direction to the Madurai rural police to grant permission for conducting the 115th birth anniversary celebration of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at Usilampatti in the district on February 19 when many personalities including Natarajan, husband of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's former confidante Sasikalaa, was to participate.

S.P. Deivendran, secretary of Netaji Trust, had filed the petition claiming that there was no positive reply from the police despite making several representations seeking permission for the function.
