Missing advocate held

Advocate E. Ezhilarasu (36), who went missing since Friday night from the the campus of Madras High Court bench here, was arrested near the district court premises on Sunday, police said.

Following a complaint from the HC Bench Registrar (Administration), a large posse of police led by SP M. Manohar entered the HC premises to arrest the six advocates, who were on an indefinite fast demanding the use of Tamil in the High Court.

Even as the police picked them up, advocate Ezhilarasu went missing.

A hunt was on to secure him since Friday.

After arrest, the advocate was taken to the Government Rajaji Hospital, for medical examination. Subsequently, the police produced him before a judicial magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody till July 2, he added.
