Two men were awarded life sentence in a murder case by the Additional District and Sessions Court V here on Thursday.
Police sources said that K. Manikandan alias Abbas Mani (31) was hacked to death by a three-member gang in Mela Anuppanadi in April 2014 allegedly due to personal enmity. Teppakulam police registered a case against M. Chellapandi (26) from Anuppanadi and P. Balamurugan (28) and P. Jeyakumar (26) from Mela Anuppanadi.
While Chellapandi died in 2015 when the case was in trial, the other two were sentenced to life imprisonment and slapped with a fine of Rs. 5,000 each by Judge S. Sameena.
