A two-day State-level kabaddi tournament (Madurai leg) was kick-started at the Race Course stadium here on Saturday. Thirty teams are participating in it. ‘Sellur’ K. Raju, Minister for Cooperation, who inaugurated it, thanked The Hindu for supporting the tournament.

“Tamil Nadu players are a force to reckon with in kabaddi.”

Solai. M. Raja, Vice-President, Tamil Nadu Olympic Association, was happy to see the enthusiasm shown by the teams. R.B. Udayakumar, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, was present. The winners will get a prize money of ₹ 25,000, while runners-up will pocket ₹15,000. The event sponsors include Thyrocare, Black Thunder, Suguna Pumps & Motors, Ortho One.
