An Interact Club, which is the school chapter of Rotary International, was inaugurated at Indian Association for the Blind (IAB) Higher Secondary School at Sundararajanpatti here on Friday in association with Rotary Club of Madurai Metro.

School authorities and functionaries of the Rotary Club of Madurai Metro said that this was the first time a chapter of Interact Club was opened in a school for visually challenged children.

They said that the club would provide opportunities for students between 12 to 18 years to develop leadership skills, connect with community leaders and make international-level connections through Rotary while at the same time having fun.

The club will meet twice a month and carry out at least two service projects in a year.
