Indofil launches two new fertilisers in Madurai

Two new fertiliser products – Avtar and Merger – were launched in the city on Thursday by Indofil Chemicals Company, an agro-chemicals company working in over 55 countries.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion, R.C. Bishnoi, general manager (sales), said these two products would benefit the farmers as it would increase yield and quality. He added that the company had a global presence with factories in China and Milan apart from those at Pune and Bhopal.

N. Prathap Reddy, zonal sales manager, (South), said that a regional office and clearing-and-forwarding office of the company was present at Coimbatore. It had over 172 distributors in Tamil Nadu with nearly 3,500 retail outlets.

“While we saw a business of Rs. 30 crore in the last financial year from Tamil Nadu, we see potential for these two new products to do business of Rs. 55 crore eventually in the State. This fiscals' target was Rs. 1 crore,” he said.

Amit Agarwal, product manager, said these two products offered a ready-made solution to farmers to combat a range of diseases afflicting many crops. M.P. Mani, area marketing manager, said the fertilisers should be used in the proportion of 400-500 gm per acre for all crops.
