ICSE schools basking in glory

Almost all schools in Madurai record 100 per cent results

Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Schools in the city are basking in success following the declaration of Class X examination results on Wednesday evening.

Almost all the schools have obtained 100 per cent results. In most schools, students have scored full marks in various subjects.

T. Venkat, a student of Virudhunagar T.S.M. Manickam Nadar Janaki Ammal (VMJ) Higher Secondary School here, has secured 583 marks (97.8 per cent), the second highest in the State, officials said.

A total of 56 students wrote the examinations from VMJ School, of whom 46 students have secured more than 90 per cent, said school secretary K.R. Uthayam.

The school has nine full mark scorers in subjects like Computer Science, Home Science and Mathematics, said Principal Pearl Premkumar.

According to V. Navaneethakrishnan, Principal of Vikaasa School, 100 students wrote the examinations. A.R. Manjarie stood first in the school with 582 marks (97 per cent).

As many as 13 students had scored centum in various subjects and 26 students had secured above 90 per cent, he added.

L.K.N. Nindhiya topped the results in Lakshmi School with 581 marks (96.8 per cent), said Francis, Vice-Principal of the school.

A total of 110 students wrote the examinations and the school had recorded better results than previous years, he noted.

Jeevana School saw 117 of its students writing the examinations. Around 20 students scored above 90 per cent, said A.K. Srinivasan, Headmaster for Classes IX and X in the school. Two students – P. Abhimanyu and D. Abirami – stood first in the school with 571 marks each, he added.

A total of 18 students from Keswick Public School wrote the examinations and all of them have passed.

Managements of all the schools said the students performed exceedingly well and the results improved in comparison to previous years.
