Recreation in southern districts is all set to take a quantum leap forward with the inauguration of a sophisticated ‘Pro swing golf simulator’ at the Heritance Madurai, a venture of Chennai-based ETL Hospitality Services, on Wednesday.
Procured at a great cost, this equipment was similar to those being used in the United States to teach professional golfers, according to S. Thiagarajan, Chief Executive Officer, ETL Infrastructure Services, of which ETL Hospitality is a subsidiary.
Inaugurated by the captain of Bangalore Golf Club, C.S. Subramanian, the equipment will allow users to both play and learn golf, said Mr. Thiagarajan. Besides providing customers a unique experience, this equipment would also provide an avenue to develop golf in Madurai.
“Heritance Madurai is probably the first resort in India to have a golf simulator,” he said. The response to the resort has been good, he said, adding that the approval ratings almost touched 90 per cent.
Heritance Madurai was also planning to launch a ‘Wellness centre,’ which would offer services such as spa, yoga, diet, health consultancy, and other similar services. It would be a holistic centre, he said.
Besides this, full-fledged conferencing facilities were also being established. It would have the capacity to seat over 400, he said.
Noted bharatnatyam dancer and daughter of actor Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Dhanush, inaugurated the lounge and bar of Heritance Madurai and interacted with the foreign guests.
