Madurai Collector, Anshul Mishra, had asked the officials to study the traffic pattern and suggest improvement measures to decongest the vehicular traffic.

A team of officials from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, city Traffic Police and Regional Transport Office inspected various junctions and bus stops for improving the traffic movement between Goripalayam Junction and Tallakulam outpost on Saturday.

Among them were the TNSTC General Manager, Chandrasekar, RTOs, N. Ravichandran (North) and K. Kalyanakumar (Central) and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ellapparaj.

The team members discussed the possibility to diverting vehicles, other than public transport vehicles like buses and autorickshaws, from Palam Station road through Sellur and Narimedu, Mr. Ravichandran said.

Besides, they also studied the possibility of introducing one-way traffic and re-location of bus stops.

The report would be submitted to the Collector soon.
