Dismissal of ‘Makkal Nala Paniyalargal' by the State government had a political motive behind it since the sacked employees were appointed by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, said DMK leader Pon. Muthuramalingam.

Addressing a demonstration staged by the DMK Youth Wing here on Tuesday, he said that dismissal of employees appointed by one government by the next party in power would affect the administration. The DMK did not take any such step when it was in power.

The AIADMK government had shifted the Secretariat from its new building to the old one. Its move to shift the Anna Centenary Library from its new building has been stayed by the High Court. The attempt to do away with Samacheer Kalvi was negated by the Supreme Court, he said.

Party's urban district secretary K. Thalapathi, former Mayor Kuzhanthaivelu and former Deputy Mayor P.M. Mannan were present.
