Disclosing account details costs her dearly

A 23-year-old woman, P. Lakshmi, was cheated by an unidentified person of Rs. 70,000 after getting details of her ATM card and its PIN.

The police said that the woman of Sathangudi received a call from an unidentified person on April 13.

The man calling himself to be manager of the bank, where she had her savings account and told her that her account had been locked.

He sought the ATM details and PIN for releasing it.

A few days later, the woman found that Rs. 70,000 had been siphoned off from her account.

Case registered

Based on a complaint, Tirumangalam Taluk police have registered a cheating case.
