Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao on Thursday conducted a review meeting to analyse the dengue situation in the district and steps taken for its eradication.
Officials from different divisions of the district administration participated in the meeting.
50 houses per DBC
The collector said that Dengue Breeding Checkers (DBCs) would have to ensure that every house had been thoroughly checked. They would be allocated 50 houses per day for six days of the week. All households, commercial complexes and empty plots of land would have to be inspected.
He added that students from medical colleges and nursing schools and N.S.S. volunteers would have to take part in creating dengue awareness once a week.
He stated that signs such as ‘smiley face’ for clean houses and ‘X’ for those with dengue needed to be placed on the door of houses by the DBCs.
As part of the dengue eradication drive, Corporation Commissioner S. Aneesh Sekhar levied a fine of ₹50,000 and issued notice to a company dealing with wooden products.
