Changes in traffic system withdrawn

April 09, 2010 06:01 pm | Updated 06:01 pm IST - MADURAI:

A new traffic system introduced on an experimental basis at two intersections in the city two days ago has been withdrawn.

The traffic police had made a change near Tamukkam Ground intersection. Vehicles coming from Gandhi Museum Road were not permitted to take a right turn on Alagarkoil Road. In the other arrangement, vehicles coming from Dhalavai Agraharam were permitted to proceed to Simmakkal after taking a left turn on Vakkil New Street instead of the small stretch leading towards Old Chockanathar Temple.

These traffic arrangements were withdrawn following representations from road users, police said.
