Mr. P. Balasubramaniam, DIG, on Tuesday took over as City Commissioner and assured night patrolling would be improved and better response to grievances and complaints.

Talking to newsmen here, the Commissioner, who has rich experience in City Police Administration and Policing, said there were no big “Law and Border problem” in the city.

On felling of huge trees by Traffic Police to enable better view for road users, he said trees will not be cut in future.

Traffic would be regulated by implementation of traffic rules rather than felling trees.

He was also interested in moving the Commissioner’s office out of the city at Natham road where adequate space was available.

The lorry parking facility on the city outskirts would be brought to full utility once basic amenities, to be provided in a month’s time, were completed.
