A public awareness seminar on herbal medicine developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for treating leucoderma, a skin condition with white patches, is being organised here on September 8.

Leucoderma Awareness Movement-India, a charitable trust, is holding this seminar at C.E.O.A. Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kalai Nagar Extension in the city.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, K. Umapathy, secretary of the awareness movement, said that the aim is to introduce the herbal medicine ‘Lukoskin,’ which was developed by DRDO, scientifically proved and available in the market.

In Tamil Nadu, there are 36 lakh people affected by leucoderma and are not aware about the herbal medicine which comes as tonic and cream. Awareness meetings are being conducted in various districts.
