Discipline, punctuality and physical fitness are important for Home Guards who would be involved in various tasks in assisting the police, Commissioner of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal said.

Inspecting the passing out parade of 80 Home Guards, including 16 women, here on Armed Reserve Ground, he said that many people who aspired to sport khaki uniform could not get it. “But, you have got a chance to work with the police to serve weaker sections of the society, women and children.” He stressed that the Home Guards should be punctual and maintain discipline. They should regularly do physical exercise to keep themselves fit. “You have a chance to get into the police department,” he said.

The Home Guards had undergone 45-days of training in physical exercises and weapons training.
