Corporation personnel impounded 42 stray cattle at Palayamkottai on Wednesday.

As the stray cattle are causing frequent accidents and road-users, especially two-wheeler riders, are facing a serious threat from these domestic animals, Collector M. Karunakaran, on receiving complaints from the public, ordered the detention of bulls and cows wandering along roads. He also announced that the detained stray cattle would be handed over to the ‘goshala’ at Sri Ettezhuththu Perumal Temple at Arugankulam.

When the Corporation personnel swung into action on Wednesday, they impounded 42 stray cattle from Samathanapuram and adjacent areas.

After Dr. Karunakaran inspected the detained cattle, they were sent to the ‘goshala’.
