Ten students of ‘Sanadhana Vedha Padasalai’ at Krishnapuram near here were admitted to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital on Saturday afternoon with symptoms of food poisoning.

Of the 35 students of the 14-year-old institution, who are undergoing the seven-year training programme, 10 were admitted to the hospital after they suffered from vomiting and diarrhoea.

Rushed

“After the students had their breakfast on Saturday morning, they were given some fruits donated to the institution by a philanthropist. Since ten of them had vomiting and diarrhoea, they were rushed to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital after the first-aid given locally,” said a woman accompanying the students. Doctors attending to the students said the boys were stable and there was no cause for worry.
