Two held for swindling

The city police have arrested two persons on charge of swindling Rs. 50 lakh by pledging the cars they rented in the name of a tourist resort.

The arrested have been identified as Finix, son of Yakub from Mookkannoor and Roshan, son of Anish from Piravom.

The police said in a statement that the arrested persons had taken a car on monthly rent from one Kochumon from Chengannur. The investigations were conducted on the basis of a complaint from Kochumon, who failed to get the car back despite repeated requests to the arrested persons.

The resort was operated at Thathampally, North Paravur, but was recently closed, the police said.
