Two global delegations visit Cusat

Two international delegations from Australia and the European Union visited Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) to explore areas of mutual co-operation.

An official release issued here said a six-member team from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT), met Cusat Vice-Chancellor J. Letha, Pro-Vice Chancellor P.G. Sankaran, and IRAA Director Saju K.K. on Thursday.

The Cusat team elaborated on courses offered by the varsity.

ACT legislative assembly opposition leader Alistair Coe led the Australian delegation.

The visiting team expressed special interest in courses offered by the departments of ship technology, marine engineering, marine sciences, and Engineering. A delegation of European Union on Friday visited the varsity to learn about its academic, research and innovation activities and fresh initiatives.

An official release said the delegation comprised 10 members headed by Tania Friederichs.

Presentations on learning and research activities of Cusat and the possibilities of academic and research collaboration between the varsity and European Union countries were made on the occasion. Pro-Vice Chancellor P.G. Sankaran led the varsity team that interacted with the delegation.
