Railway police on Tuesday arrested a train passenger for smuggling Indian Made Foreign Liquor, presumably from Goa, to Kerala.
The arrest of K. M. Praveen (34), hailing from Kankanahalli in Karnataka’s Hassan district, was rounded up as he got down from the Thiruvananthapuram bound ‘Netravati’ Express from Mumbai around 06.15 a.m, railway police sources here said.
The man was carrying 600 sachets of 90 ML liquor and another 24 bottles with 750 ML capacity each concealed in a bag and rounded up by the patrolling police as soon as he got down here from the train, they said.
The man was produced before the Kannur Judicial First Class Magistrate Court which remanded him to judicial custody, they said.
