The Hindu honours top ad agencies

Meet with advertising partners lays stress on better ties and partnership

An interactive session between The Hindu group of publications and its advertisement partners here on Monday elicited great response with about 150 stakeholders participating in a gala evening meeting that was addressed by Rajiv C. Lochan, Managing Director and CEO, Kasturi & Sons Ltd.

Mr. Lochan, who welcomed the gathering at Hotel Taj Gateway on Marine Drive, said it was an occasion to renew friendship and cement a partnership that spanned more than a century.

He said that The Hindu group of publications, 138 years old, was attempting major changes based on its ideals and reputation.

Public opinion

The Hindu has played a role in shaping and reflecting public opinion. It has had a multi-generational relationship with its partners in different segments.

“It is important that all our partners in the ecosystem flourish so that we can also flourish,” he said. He also highlighted the importance of the Kerala market.

Shankar V. Subramaniam, vice-president, advertisement, South, said that being a leader in the market was a continuous challenge.

K.K. Joshy, senior general manager, advertisement (Kerala), made a presentation on how The Hindu group offered 360 degree media solutions to clients and agencies. P. Satheesh Kumar, new head in Kochi, was introduced to the gathering by Mr. Joshi.

N.V. Balamurali, DGM (Circulation), and S. Venkata Subramanian, assistant general manager, The Hindu (Tamil) were present.

Three of the top advertisement partners, who have contributed maximum business to The Hindu group of publications in the past financial year from Kerala, were honoured.

Those honoured are Anil Musthafa, director of Stark Communications; Jones Paul Valappila and and James Paul Valappila, joint MDs of Valappila Communications Private Limited; and P.T. Abraham, chief executive officer of Jelitta Publicity.
