Students take part in walkathon

A walkathon was held here on Wednesday to mark World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on October 13. School, college students and others took part in the walkathon organised by Alpha Pain Clinic.

The walkathon from the Marine Drive Helipad to the Fine Arts Hall was flagged off by district panchayat president Eldhose Kunnapillil.

P.S. Sukumaran, president, Alpha volunteers’ council, Kochi, welcomed the gathering. Hibi Eden, MLA; B. Bhadra, deputy mayor; Sebastian Paul, former MP; District Medical Officer Junaid Rahman; George Alexander Muthoot, managing director, Muthoot Group, were among those who participated.

Various presentations were made at a seminar on ‘Students for palliative care.’
