Officers of the Federal Bank will go on a day’s strike on Friday, demanding steps to minimise the hardship caused to the public and the staff following the procedural formalities of the centralised operation system, according to a communication issued by Paul Mundadan, general secretary of the Federal Bank Officers’ Association. The other demands raised by the officers include steps to end the violations of the service conditions of officers and recruitment of necessary officers to the bank. The Bank authorities maintained that there was no valid ground for the strike. Around 60 per cent of the refinement of operational procedures was over. The bank hoped to complete the process in another 35 says, said Thampy Kurian, general manager (HR), of the Bank.
