The family members of S.R. Sreejith, the Varappuzha youth who died following alleged custodial torture, on Tuesday received a letter threatening them not to pursue with the case.

The letter, reportedly carrying the address of Shadow squad, Thiruvananthapuram Rural police, said that Sreejith’s brother would also face similar fate, if the case against police officials is not withdrawn. The investigating team, while suspecting the veracity of the letter, said a probe would be launched once it received a complaint.
