The flying squad of the Forest Department detained two persons with what they suspect to be snake venom from near Ambedkar stadium here on Friday night.

Officials said Alshad and Vishnu Raj of Wadakkancherry were arrested while they were trying to sell the venom-like substance they were carrying in a 500 ml bottle.

Officials said the duo received the substance from a person named Shefi from Malappuram. The flying squad arrived at the location where the sale was to take place and made the arrest. The two accused were produced before the Perumbavoor court on Saturday.
