Rs. 30 crore for flats for officials in city

A 15-storied apartment complex will be built on the premises of the NGO quarters at Kakkanad for government employees.

An amount of Rs. 30 crore has been set apart for this project in the 2010-11 State budget.

The project would benefit 400 families.

Judicial officers

Besides, another Rs. 5.5 crore has been set apart for a building complex for the temporary accommodation of the employees and another Rs. 6 crore for the construction of quarters for judicial officers, also in Kakkanad.

Quarters for government employees will be built at Aluva at an esetimated cost of Rs. 5 crore.

Another Rs. 16 lakh has been allocated for the betterment of facilities in the existing flats.

New block

The new block at the civil station at Kakkanad would be readied at a cost of Rs. 6 crore. Budgetary allocation of Rs. 22 lakh has been made for the construction of a Collector's bungalow.
