The annual target set for Ernakulam district for this financial year is Rs. 12,674.13 crore, which is Rs. 2,120 crore more than last year’s Rs. 10,554.01 crore. For the 2010-11 fiscal, the target was Rs. 9,147.79 crore.
The district has managed to collect Rs. 7,826.96 crore during the first eight months of this fiscal compared to Rs. 6,262.16 crore for the corresponding period during the last fiscal.
In keeping with its record, the commercial taxes department has been set the biggest target. The offices of the Deputy Commissioner of Ernakulam and Mattancherry circles have been given targets of Rs. 10,294 crore and Rs. 1,027 respectively.
These offices have collected Rs. 6,400.69 crore and Rs. 634.54 crore in the first eight months of this fiscal. During the last fiscal, the targets for the Ernakulam and Mattancherry circles were Rs. 8,859 crore and Rs. 823 crore respectively while the actual collections stood at Rs. 8,488.77 crore and Rs. 815.33 crore.
The combined target for the district registrar on account of stamp duty and registration for this fiscal is Rs. 811.99 crore of which Rs. 401.28 crore has been collected in the last eight months. During 2011-12 fiscal the actual collection of Rs. 610.18 crore was in excess of the target of Rs. 604.40 crore.
Regional Transport Offices at Ernakulam and Muvattupuzha have been set a target of Rs. 204 crore and Rs. 76 crore of which Rs. 139.53 crore and Rs. 52.32 crore have been collected over the last eight months.
