The Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the temporary lifting of cabotage regulations, which will go a long way in improving business at the International Container Transshipment Terminal here.

A statement from the Chamber issued here on Saturday said that a delegation comprising the Chairman and officials of KCCI were in Delhi in the first week of December and they met Union Defence Minister A. K. Antony and Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi on the issue.

The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry too has welcomed the announcement by the Union Ministry of Shipping on relaxation in cabotage law for the International Container Transshipment Terminal, Vallarpadam. A statement issued by the Chamber said though 100 per cent radiological scanning of containers might pose initial hiccups it would be stabilised.
