The State has filed a plea before the District Court here seeking to cancel the bail of nine persons accused of attacking four people at Nochima, Aluva, in October 2012. The nine accused have allegedly violated the conditions of their bail.

A gang of goondas broke into the house at Nochima where a man named Vishakh was living with his family. The group of around 25 people reportedly attacked Vishakh, his grandmother, mother and wife using iron rods and other weapons. Fourteen persons had been arrested in the case. Police had also named as accused ‘Bhai’ Nazeer, a notorious goon involved in other cases as well.

As per the conditions of the bail granted to the first nine accused, they were to report before the police on alternate days. District Public Prosecutor M.A. Joseph Manavalan submitted in the petition that all nine had violated this condition. First accused Sulaiman, 47, had gone missing after two persons had surrendered in the case. Second accused Manoj, 22, is also absconding. Police are also on the lookout for Nazeer in connection with the case.
