PDP to switch agitation mode

August 10, 2010 02:19 am | Updated 02:19 am IST - KOLLAM

Working chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Poonthura Siraj said here on Monday that in view of the commencement of the holy month of Ramzan, the indefinite fast at Anwarserry by PDP leaders would be withdrawn from Tuesday. Instead, a dharna in protest against the Bangalore police action would begin on Wednesday.

The PDP leaders are observing fast against the inclusion of Abdul Nasir Maudany as an accused in the Bangalore serial blasts case.

Mr. Siraj said as part of strengthening the organisational network of the party, the district committees of the PDP in Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Alappuzha and Thrissur would be reorganised.
