The NIA Special court in Kochi on Wednesday posted the pronouncing of verdict in the Muvattupuzha palm-chopping case to April 30.
The court was slated to give the verdict on April 23 and postponed the date to complete the paper works. .
During the trial of the case which commenced in July 2013, the court examined 306 prosecution witnesses, four defence witnesses, 963 prosecution documents, 29 defence documents and 227 material objects. The court asked 1,589 questions to the accused as part of procedure under section 313 of the CrPC. There are 54 accused in the case, of which 37 have been charge sheeted and 31 persons have undergone trial. Six accused including Savad, the first accused are yet to be arrested.
