Paediatric ICU opened at hospital

A two-bed paediatric ICU was opened at the District General Hospital on Friday by V.R. Krishna Iyer, former judge, Supreme Court.

Sarada Krishna Satgamaya Foundation had provided Rs.5 lakh to set up the ICU and for a labour bed to take the delivery in the maternity ward. Mr. Iyer, who heads the foundation, said the hospital facilities should be useful to the ordinary man. T.V. Ramakrishnan, former judge, High Court, and advocate P. B. Sahasranaman were among those who spoke on the occasion. District Collector P. I. Sheikh Pareed presided over the function. Junaid Rahman, hospital superintendent, welcomed the gathering.
