: There is ample scope for collaborative research works between India and Norway to improve the blue growth sectors, said international marine expert Lasse H. Pettersson, director of International Cooperation and Marketing, Norway.

He expressed willingness to tie-up with Indian scientists to carry out joint research ventures in the development of technologies to utilise ocean and inland water resources. He was delivering a plenary lecture at the three-day international conference on Blue Economy being organised by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies in Kochi.

“Norwegian scientists have developed a satellite technology to monitor and trace the path of fishes and to analyse fish behaviour,” he said. He sought the support of Indian scientists to modify the technologies for the Indian context.
