Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R.K. Dhowan arrived at the Southern Naval Command here on his farewell visit.

Admiral Dhowan, due to retire from service on May 31, was received at the naval air station INS Garuda by Vice-Admiral Girish Luthra, chief of the Southern Command. He was presented a guard of honour.

The Admiral inaugurated the Combat Management System simulator at the Navigation and Direction School — his alma mater from where he graduated in 1982.

The simulator will be used for training personnel on the indigenously-developed state-of-the-art Action Information System.
