Last day to sign up for pre-counselling guidance programme

Registrations will conclude today for the pre-counselling guidance programme The Hindu-EducationPlus is conducting in Kochi on May 10 for the benefit of students seeking admission to courses in various professional streams after their Plus-Two.

Entry to the event at Gokulam Convention Centre in Kaloor is free.

Registrations can be done by e-mail today by sending your address and phone number to ep@thehindu.co.in . Registration forms are also available at the office of The Hindu in Kochi at N.H. Bypass Road, Vyttila Junction, Ph: 0484-2301653, 2307836. Spot registrations may be possible at the event venue on Friday, depending on the availability of seats.

Similar programmes had been conducted in Kannur and Kozhikode earlier this week and one is planned in Thrissur today. The concluding programme will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram on May 18.

Among the key speakers at the event is S. Santhosh, Joint Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, who will focus on the online seat allotment process. A. Jayaprakash Gandhi, education and career guidance expert based in Tamil Nadu, will talk about the admission scene in that State and Puducherry. B. S. Warrier, education expert, will present an overview of professional courses. Placement training and career guidance expert A. Krishna Swamy from Kengcylopedia.com will discuss the matrix for exercising engineering college and course options. Students can seek information and get their doubts cleared during an interaction with experts that will follow the presentations.

State Bank of India, Local Head Office is the presenting sponsor of the programme. The associate sponsors are Hero MotoCorp and Co-operative Academy for Professional Education. Asianet News is the TV Partner.

A handbook with information on aspects of the course-college selection process, the professional courses on offer, engineering course and college selection will be provided to participants free of cost.
