Land acquisition for metro rail stations gets nod

A meeting of the State-level expert committee chaired by the Chief Secretary held in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday gave approval to the acquisition of land for setting up 20 stations for the proposed Kochi metro rail.

Metro stations will come up at Aluva, Pulinchodu, Companypady, Ambattukavu, Muttom, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Pathadipalam, Edappally, Changampuzha Park, Palarivattom, Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor, Lissie, M.G. Road, Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam South, Kadavanthra, Elamkulam, Thykoodam, and Pettah.

Meanwhile, everything is set for marking the launch of the construction work of Kochi Metro Rail project on Friday a grand event.
