: The KMA Annual National Management Convention will be inaugurated at the Le Meridien International Convention Centre here on January 14. Billed as the largest management meet in Kerala, the two-day meet will have the participation of over 1,000 management representatives in business, industry, bureaucracy and academia from across the country.
The main theme of the conference is ‘India 2.0 Opportunities’. The theme reflects on the confluence of Indian and international perspectives in management in the backdrop of recent economic crisis that challenged accepted management practices. The three areas of focus this year are: changing business models, emergence of the global manager and branding ‘New India’.
The convention will be inaugurated at 6.30 p.m. on January 14. There will be two technical sessions, one special session and a panel discussion next day.
T.N. Ninan, journalist, will be the keynote speaker at the inaugural meet. V.G. Mathew, MD and CEO, South Indian Bank Limited, Harish Bijoor, brand expert and CEO, Harish Bijoor Consults Inc., will be the guests of honour.
The speakers at the technical sessions include A.K. Balyan, MD, Petronet LNG Limited, Peter Laser, MD, IKA India Private Limited, Rajiv Krishnan, National Head of People and Change Consulting Practice India, E&Y; Sridhar Ganesh, Former Director–HR, Murugappa Group, Rajendra Theagarajah, Director, National Development Bank, Sri Lanka.
Ullas Kamath, Joint Managing Director, Jyothy Laboratories Limited, will address the delegates at the special session. The panelists include Abraham Kuruvilla, Partner at Ernest & Young, Sanjay Vijaykumar, CEO, MobMe Wireless.com; Poornima Vardhan, Founder of 335TH and Akshay Verma, Founder, Agratam India.
At the valedictory session at 4 p.m. on Thursday, H.M. Nerurkar, president, AIMA, and V.K. Mathews, founder and executive Chairman, IBS Group of Companies, will speak. Winner of the Management Leadership award – 2015 will be announced.
