KOCHI:Minister for Cooperation Kadakampally Surendran said on Saturday that the dream of forming Kerala’s own bank would be realized. He said the primary cooperative banks would be strengthened with the formation of the proposed Kerala Bank. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Vallam branch of the Okkal Service Cooperative on Saturday, said a press release.

He said only the administrative set-up of the district cooperative banks would change with the establishment of the Kerala Bank. He said the proposed bank would deploy the latest technology to provide the best of services and that cooperators should help the government in realizing the Kerala Bank.

The Minister also alleged that the Union government’s banking policies were repelling the ordinary people from banks and the Kerala Bank would have more relevance under such conditions.
