High speed railway corridor for Kerala

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has announced the decision of the Union Railway Ministry to sanction the State's proposal for establishing a high speed railway corridor connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore. He said that he had, on Thursday, received the letter sent in this regard by Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi.

He was speaking at a public meeting organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) here on Friday evening to highlight the achievements of the UDF government.

Mr. Chandy also said that the proposed Vision 2030 programme envisaged by the State government would take into account the views and aspirations of the student and youth organisations of the State.
