Health scheme launched

Justice Syriac Joseph, member, National Human Rights Commission, on Monday inaugurated the first phase of the comprehensive health village programme to be implemented in the Kottuvally grama pachayat. K.V. Thomas, MP, was the chief guest while V.D. Satheesan, MLA, presided over the function, held at the Kaitharam NSS hall. As part of the programme, health check-up camps will be organised at different locations in the village and the service of cancer-detecting system will be made available. Besides, a health survey is being taken up in all wards. Under the initiative, each of the wards will be divided into four zones and examination of life-style diseases and awareness classes will be carried out.
