HC moved for new liquor policy

A writ was filed on Thursday in the Kerala High Court seeking to quash an order issued by the previous United Democratic Front (UDF) government in March extending its liquor policy for the year 2016-17.

In its petition, V.M. Radhakrishnan, president, Kerala Hotels Industrialists’ Association, also sought a directive to the new government to frame a new liquor policy after thoroughly studying the negative effects of the liquor policy on the year ending in March 2016.
