Graft charges: HC notice to Centre

The Kerala High Court has issued notice to the Centre on a writ petition seeking a CBI probe into the allegations of corruption and mismanagement against Jaiveer Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director, Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT), Eloor.

The petition was filed by journalist M.R. Ajayan. The petitioner alleged that the company had nosedived into huge loss on account of the mismanagement and extravaganza by the Chairman and Managing Director.

He alleged that the Chairman and Managing Director of FACT had concealed several facts while applying for the post.

He alleged that Srivastava secured appointment in the FACT through backdoor by misleading the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
