Aimed at improving customer experience, the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) is all set to launch a mobile application to provide vital information to flyers. The application can be downloaded for free and is compatible with all types of smartphones, including Android and iPhone, said officials.

The new app will contain features like live flight updates and interactive terminal maps. It will also provide flight timetables for every airline, restaurant listings and timings, product availability at Cochin duty-free shop, weather and city guides, said officials.

The mobile app was developed by incorporating feedback from a select number of passengers over a period of time.

“We listened to what our customers wanted in an airport-based mobile app. It will have everything a passenger needs to make a trip through CIAL faster and more efficient,” said a senior CIAL official. The development of the application comes close on the heels of CIAL launching its page on Facebook, which has received 44,400 likes.

With this, the airport officials are able to track the preferences of the customers and act accordingly. “At a time when the airport is expanding with the construction of the new international terminal, it is important that we get the feedback from users across the world,” an official said. A mobile compatible website version (www.m.cial.aero) of the airport has been readied.
