May 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - KOCHI:

The Ernakulam South police on Friday interrogated local BJP leader C.G. Rajagopal in connection with the engineering admission scam.

He was summoned to the police station and the interrogation lasted for hours. Mr. Rajagopal reportedly told the police that he had come to know Jayesh J. Kumar, the key accused in the scam, through the World Hindu Economic Forum.

He said he had visited the Jayesh’s college in Secuderabad after the latter reportedly sought his intervention to settle some issue there.  Mr. Rajagopal claimed to have returned on finding things amiss there. The police also interrogated another person, Manoj Meleth, in connection with the scam.
