Twenty-five cases of dengue fever have been reported from the district over the past 12 days. So far, 72 dengue cases have been reported this year.
As many as 38 cases of leptospirosis and 77 Hepatitis A cases have also been reported.
Intermittent rains have created a conducive environment for vectors to trasmit diseases. The Health authorities are taking precautions and preventive action to lessen the chances of avoidable diseases.
As a precautionary measure, Cleanliness Day will be observed in the district on Sunday. Health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi and Kudumbashree workers, residents’ associations and non-governmental organisations have begun efforts to spread awareness about the cleanliness programme.
